The Ministry of Education science research cost overseas academic investigation expense came out of Mr. Imanishi as a representative for the first time in 1961. However, it was the budget of 1 dollar for one person  one day. We needed a large amount of fund-raising. We were planning establishing an investigation base in the chimpanzee habitat by Lake Tanganyika. Fund-raising and equipments were collected and the dispatch was carried out. The base was set to the beach of Mukuyu of the south of the Kabogo cape of the shore of the east in Lake Tanganyika. All materials were sent to this beach by the boat. And a pilot survey and construction of a base started.
